I'm Bogdan Georgescu, the founder of Mood EQ. I've spent 20+ years in nightlife culture - I run a booking agency in Romania's electronic music scene. Mood EQ didn't start as a business plan. It started as a personal need: I like going out and being social, but I want to be functional the next day too.

Why I created Mood EQ

I noticed at my very first party, over 20 years ago, that a night out has a next-day cost. For years I tried the products that were out there, and none of them satisfied me. During the pandemic, with a lot of time on my hands, I got serious about studying - biology, chemistry, anatomy, nutrition. I researched how alcohol acts in the body and what it depletes, and in parallel which nutrients can support the body's recovery. That research became the Mood EQ formula.

How I built the formula

I created the recipe myself. It was then validated by a firm specialised in regulatory approval and by the manufacturer I work with - I don't own a factory, I work with a producer on the basis of a recipe. The formula has 17 ingredients, each with its dose disclosed, and no proprietary blends. I chose ingredients such as N-acetyl cysteine (NAC), silymarin, minerals and amino acids, alongside vitamins that carry EU-authorised claims. The doses are meant to be meaningful, not symbolic - and I tested them, literally, on myself, before taking the product any further.

Honest about what it can and can't do

I'm straight about the limits: how much and how hard you drink matters enormously. Mood EQ offers nutritional support - it's not an excuse to overdo it, and it doesn't undo the effects of alcohol. I believe in balance: enjoy the night, but look after yourself - sleep, nutrition, movement. That balanced, grown-up consumer is who I made the product for.

Third-party tested

Every batch is tested by a third-party lab for purity and compliance. The product is made in the EU, in an ISO-certified facility.

How we document EQ Lab articles

Our articles are based on scientific sources and on the health claims authorised at EU level (Regulation 432/2012), where they exist, attributed to the relevant ingredient. We update the content as new information appears. Mood EQ is a food supplement that provides nutritional support - not a medicine, and it does not prevent or cure a hangover.
